Pete and I rocked the radio thang yesterday. Here’s the link: http://archive.kpft.org. We played the Song Writer’s Studio spot — August 15th at 6pm. “For Life”, “Hold My Breath”, and “Mary Lou” all sounded great. Very pleased. Thanks to everyone over at 90.1 KPFT. And a shout out to Pete (www.petesimple.com), you are the Goose to my Maverick. However, we should probably stop playing beach volleyball with our shirts off. I burn too easily and the dog tags give me a rash. ;-)

Oh yea, we ‘re playing at the King Biscuit Patio Cafe (http://www.thekingbiscuit.com) this Friday night from 8pm – 11pm, and Dave’s gonna hop up on stage with us (Ransom… not Matthews, but he’s still a bad-ass www.daveransom.com). No cover – no excuse. They’ve got great food too. See you’s dere! ~Peace

I’ve been listening to the new DMB album entitled “Big Whiskey and the Groo Grux King”, and I must say that it’s their best work since 2002.  Definitely a great relief for fans to see the creative juices flowing.  Unfortunately, I think that this breakthrough came shortly after the passing of saxophonist and founding member LeRoi Moore.  (moment of silence)  Leave it to catastrophe to bring everyone together in naked honesty and respect.  Too often does enlightenment require a brick to the head (or heart).  People, today, use “I wish…” as if it were oxygen, but I wish that we could find a way to love the present just as we do the past.  Ain’t it a &%$#@!  Only when _____ is gone, do we find our deepest regret, joy, anger, and love for _____.  Perhaps it’s just me, but then again, perhaps no one reads these posts anyway.  Until the next show (or purging of the mind), “carpe diem… seize the day, boys… make your lives extraordinary.”
